Looking east along the south aisle of the nave of the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist Church in Cleveland, Ohio, in the United States.

In the background is the Chapel of the Blessed Sacrament. The Tabernacle in which the sacraments rest, reredos and accompanying sculptures, candlesticks, and prie-dieux were designed, sculpted, and manufactured by the Rambusch Decorating Company of New York City during the cathedral's renovation from 1946 to 1948. The base of the Altar of Reservation, on which the Tabernacle rests, was fashioned from the Cathedral’s original baptismal font. The lamp above the Alter of Reservation is a lamp which hung in the cathedral santuarcy prior to the 1948 reconstruction. It was re-hung in the Cathedral in 2016.

Visible are a large crucifix and three of the Stations of the Cross.

The crucifix was a gift from Leo Syntax, a parishoner of Church of the Annunciation -- a Greek Orthodox church in Cleveland's Tremont neighborhood. Syntax was stationed in Oberammergau, Germany, in 1945 and admired the work of the Lang brothers, local carvers. He commissioned the work, which was intended for his church in Cleveland. Syntax was unaware that Greek Orthodox churches only use icons, not crucifixes. It sat in his dining room for some months before he donated it to the cathedral. This is one of the few Lang Brothers works in America.

The Stations of the Cross were designed and sculpted by Rambusch during the renovation as well. Unlike most Stations of the Cross, which are half-size, these are life-size and were likely unique in a Catholic church in the United States at the time.
