My Tatarstan

My Tatarstan is an annual Wikipedia article creation and improvement marathon dedicated to geography, history, culture and contemporary phenomena of the Republic of Tatarstan. Its maiden flight is taking place from the 15th of December 2020 through the 31st of January 2021 with the support of the «Commission for the Preservation and Strengthening of Tatar language use under the auspices of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan».

Articles about anything and everything that has to do with geography, history, culture and contemporary Tatarstan are accepted into the marathon:

places worthy of special attention, famous or notable for something — historic heritage or sites of natural or artistics value. Some examples of such objects or events: places of historic events, monuments, museums, libraries, art galleries, botanical gardens, buildings and structures (mills, fortifications, old prisons, palaces and villas, burial mounds, bridges etc.), national parks and reserves, forests, amusement parks, carnivals and fairs, cultural events and the like.
important historic events taking place in the territory or significantly affecting life therein,
local culture activists, architects, archeologists, collectors of folklore, historians and other notable individuals that created in the area or left a significant mark in its history.
other socially significant contemporary phenomena - community, economic or public institutions, notable periodic events, organizations and other similar realities.

In 2020-21 the contest is organized in one nomination only — «Newly created articles in Tatar Wikipedia» (Landing page in the Tatar Wikipedia).

Participants are welcome to make use of a compendium of various existing articles and categories, dedicated to the most prominent objects, individuals, phenomena and events of Tatarstan.

Technical organizers of the Wiki-marathon are «Wikimedia RU» Non-Profit Partnership of Russia's Wiki-volunteers (Wikimedia Russia) and «Wikimedia Community of Tatar language User Group».

Rules

The contest is open for all registered users.
All participants creating at least 4 qualifying articles are awarded.
Qualifying articles will be evaluated in line with the Evaluation Criteria using the Fountain solution based pre-configured

Jury Tool.

Preliminary contest results are to be announced on the 15th of February 2021, the prize money transfers to be completed by the 8th of March 2021.

Qualifying Article

Articles meeting the following criteria qualify for evaluation of the contest:

The article is created in the period between the 15th of December 2020 (00:01 UTC) and the 31st of January 2021 (23:59 UTC).
The article is created in the standard literary Tatar using reference-encyclopedic writing style.
The article topic is dedicated to touristic objects and sights, culture and history, current public and socio-economic realities of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The article contains a minimum of 2500 bytes and 200 words.
The material is not a conceptual twin of a pre-existing article.
The material contains no vandalism, copyright violations, infringements of requirements towards biographies of living people, unfounded statements and SPAM.

All articles meeting the above criteria are accepted automatically. Points are given by Jury in line with the Evaluation Criteria — an extra point to be given for properly filled Template:My Tatarstan Contest Article added to the article Talk page (include it into Category:My Tatarstan Contest Articles).

Prizes

The prize fund for the nomination amounts to 200 thousand rubles and is to be distributed proportionally to the quality points earned by each finalist for the qualifying contest articles.
